Apparently the workers at an AT&T office in San Jose are unable to keep their fridge clean. It’s sort of sad to know that there are offices out there that have the same (and worse) problems as the ones I’ve worked in.
Rotten office fridge cleanup sends seven workers to hospital
Authorities say an enterprising office worker had decided to clean it out, placing the food in a conference room while using two cleaning chemicals to scrub down the mess.
The mixture of old lunches and disinfectant caused 28 people to need treatment for vomiting and nausea.
And now for the real kicker:
Authorities say the worker who cleaned the refrigerator didn’t need treatment – she can’t smell because of allergies.
One more reason to avoid the office fridge in general. Ours get cleaned out on a regular basis (the cleaning staff post warnings as to when it’s going to get cleaned) and everything inside gets tossed directly into the garbage. Unfortunately, that doesn’t do anything for the science experiments that some people seem to like to create at their desks.
Small towns are great. Where else would you be able to drop $10,000 on the ground, have the wind blow it around and get all of it back? I’d like to think this is just the wonderful people of Charlottetown that would do this but I know that there are probably many other small towns where you would have the same result.
Wind takes $10,000, but passing strangers return it
“There were women in dresses and everything. They were down underneath vehicles picking up the money. Young people were picking up the money and they were just saying, ‘Whose money is this?’ and bringing it to me and handing it to me. So it was just amazing that they were able to do that. I’m very happy and very grateful.” – Ian Walker
Now, it would have been even more comical if he ended up having more money in the end than when he started!
And for the strange, 6 degrees of separation part of the story, I think I actually know the Ian Walker who lost the money in the first place! Weird.

The munchkin has a new favorite show. It is Yo Gabba Gabba and it’s fantastic. Uh, and she thinks it’s fantastic. Yeah, that’s what I meant to say.
The clip above has to be one of
my her favorite segments of the show. This one is used in the commercial for the show on Treehouse and it’s great. The green guy is Brobee and yes, I already checked and you can get a Brobee T-Shirt. Updated:
Ooo, I managed to find Yo Gabba Gabba info on Wikipedia
including an episode listing. Lots of cool stuff. Now I know how many episodes I have to catch with the PVR. :)
