I heard this on the radio this morning as I was driving into work and I just had to track down the picture.
Ikea Garden Gnome
Now I can definitely understand some of the jokes that Carter, Sandra, The Boyle and Jenny from the Block were making. I wonder if Ikea really thought this one through when they created such a phallic looking garden gnome.
The story was that a number of people in parts of Ottawa woke up to find these gnomes on their lawns. It seems that someone from Ikea dropped them off over night as part of an advertising campaign.
Turns out this isn’t the first appearance of the Ikea Garden Gnome. I did a quick search and found these pictures on someone’s Flickr page. The pictures are from last spring. Their comment is that the gnomes were on the clearance sale rack.
Anyways, it was good for a laugh this morning and I can definitely agree with what everyone was saying on 105.3 Kiss FM.
CBC Ottawa – Bad muffler leads to pot bust
I always thought that it was best to be inconspicuous when doing illegal things. I guess these two figured they may as well try and get some attention to drum up business.
SQOTD: You’ve just merged into traffic on a very busy highway with 4 lanes going in your direction. Do you:
a) Stay in your wide open lane and start to accelerate?
b) Stay in your wide open lane with your left turn signal on and accelerate?
c) Move into the wide open lane to the left of you once you have checked that there is nothing there (there isn’t)?
d) Slow down to half the speed limit and have your passenger try and tell you when to change lanes instead of making use of the wide open lane in front of you!
Well, Dave and I finally got to see Ferriswheeler last night. Sort of a funny story. Dave had one of the emails saying they were playing at Cafe Dekcuf about two weeks ago. As it turned out, they had to reschedule that date and someone else was playing Dekcuf. Then we thought it was last week, but that was just a big oops. So finally, we got to see Ferriswheeler last night! heheh.
Saw the coolest uncool thing on my way home from work today. You know, one of those cool things that is not good but bad? Yeah, anyways, there was a truck with a load of studs (wood you smartass). Anyways it pulled away from one of the traffic lights a little too quick and dumped the entire load right out on the road. It was cool because it looked like the whole pile landed perfectly. I don’t know if it was strapped or not, but it was still cool. Good thing the car behind was actually far enough back. Wierd here in Ottawa. ;)
